Nasto - Every snack tells a story

Nasto is a culturally rooted DIY snack kit brand that challenges the misconception of Gujarati food being “too sweet”. Through research into Gujarat's street food culture, culinary history, regional snack traditions, consumer perceptions, and the rise of experience-led food products, I identified an opportunity to challenge stereotypes and celebrate the diversity of Gujarati flavours. In response, I created a brand that combines education, storytelling, and interaction through a cohesive identity system, sustainable packaging, a research journal, and an instructional leaflet. Using hand-drawn illustrations, custom iconography, and references to local food vendors, I developed a visual language that celebrates the richness of Gujarati snack culture. The project demonstrates my ability to translate research-driven insights into a meaningful brand experience that connects audiences with culture through design.
